Updates

It has been awhile since I last updated the blog, so here goes...

* We have not yet heard about Travis' promotion. We are now leaning more towards Buffalo, NY. Travis, at the last minute, decided to put in applications for 3 different locations: Mullica Hill, NJ, Buffalo, NY, and San Diego, CA. We can't wait to find out!

* We have just begun a new phase of baby-proofing for Lissy. She was on the verge of crawling in Utah. Poppy kept saying it will be the end of the week. Sure enough, give or take a day, the little lady made her first attempt at crawling. She didn't even have a wounded Combat Carl phase--she went for the real thing! She had been scooting backwards for a while, but was always getting stuck under the couch. She has a very delicate, slow crawl. I love it! Now, she is a pro--still slow--but Lissy is on the go. So, next, climbing up on things--the girl won't quit!

This picture is one of the first attemts at lifting herself into crawling position,
taken at the beginning of November.

A rare photo of all 3--not because they are never together, but because I never have the camera out when all 3 are together.

Garrett just loves Joy School! Here is a great picture of the entire class trying to enjoy a outside break. It was freezing cold on this day, but the kids really wanted to jump on Garrett's upside down trampoline. (We have to keep it turned over because the wind will blow it away.)

At Joy School, we talked about how the Indians helped the Pilgrims. We had a plastic tote as the Mayflower and a blue blanket as the ocean. We took turns crossing the ocean and meeting the Indians and planting gardens. It was so dang cute. After class was over, Lissy took her turn!

The boys were so excited to spend Thanksgiving with Nanny and Poppy and their new pup, Koda. They just played and played and played some more with their cousins. Uncle Troy cooked the turkey in the dutch oven. It was delicious! Thanks for having us!

Lissy showing off her skills!

This year Wyatt couldn't wait to get the tree decorated! It was complete in about 15 minutes. The living room looked like a tornado had come thru...Got a little knot there, Russ!

If you haven't seen Lissy's Happy Meter, here is a great shot taken by Wyatt. This is how you can judge if Lis is truly enjoying herself or not! It is also her greeting to her Daddy...

Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe

Buffalo, NY or San Diego, CA? That is the question...Travis is anxiously looking for promotions, but what we didn't know is that promoting usually means moving. So, on to the next adventure...There is a neat little town in Maine, but it would be a night shift position. I am not moving across country to have Travis gone all night--we've already done that and hated it!
There is a job in Buffalo, NY, but, um, Buffalo? It would be pretty cool to see Niagara Falls and some of the church history sites...
Then, there is a job in San Diego, CA that is sounding pretty good?! It would be fun to be able to go to the beach whenever, and Sea World, and Disneyland...
So, what do you think? Where should the Golding's move next? By the end of this adventure we are going to need a map to mark all of the places we have lived!!

It's Happy Halloween! Boo!

We had a super fun Halloween with lots and lots of parties and candy, of course! This year we did a Star Wars theme. The boys saw the new movie and decided to be clone troopers.
Garrett had a fun party at Joy School. Thanks Miss Claire! His favorite part was hunting for pumpkins, and he frosted a cupcake for dad--what a thoughtful little guy!

Our ward had a fun chili dinner and trunk-or-treat on Thursday. When Wyatt found out about it he said, "Mom, we are going to that." The boys aren't much of chili eaters, but they enjoyed the games and pinata. And, Lissy was a big hit with our personal rendition of Princess Leia. I just have to laugh every time I see her in her costume!

So dang cute...

Wyatt was Captain Rex. He enjoyed a party at school on Friday. He was a little put out, though...I didn't pack his mask and all of the other kids had theirs...Sorry, Gus... He did come out of the thing with lots of goodies.
Getting ready for the big night...We had to drive to a different neighborhood in town. The boys had glow sticks (I didn't get pictures), which pretty much made the night perfect!

Lissy's braids also doubled as earmuffs! Garrett calls them her ears!

We must protect the Princess.

The wait for Dad to get home from work was unbearable! I love trick-or-treating with these two little guys. They just get so excited that they can't stand themselves! After a couple of houses, Garrett made the comment, "They just keep giving me candy." I loved it!

Wyatt loves the getting-part, but mostly the sorting and eating-parts! He counted every piece and even tested out a few new items!

Caught ya!

Caught another one!

Just a little proud of their snag!

Lissy even got in on the candy action!

Quey's Maze

We enjoyed a Saturday evening at the local, kid-friendly, corn maze last weekend. It was so much fun. The boys had never been to one before and weren't too sure about it until I started calling it a park. They had a huge hay pyramid to climb on, a miniature hay maze for the little guys (they climbed on it more than going through the maze part of it!), bins filled with corn and wheat for digging and...swimming...?..., and a huge pumpkin patch that the boys loved exploring for the perfect pumpkin.

Little pig, little pig let me in...

Upon arriving, Garrett said, "Can I climb on that?" A kid's dream come true!

The boys at the top...

Wyatt, Garrett, and ME...YIKES! My knees were shaking the whole time...it's bad enough being a little afraid of heights, but add that with a 3-year-old jumping from bale to bale...not good at all!
Enter the Pumpkin Patch...

A little science along the way, this pumpkin was rotting, so, of course, Garrett had to check it out!
In search of the perfect pumpkin. The blue is Garrett. The black, way at the end, is Wyatt!

Not one of the chosen, but a good poser!

And the winners are... Garrett barely made it back before dropping the poor thing!

Lastly, the wheat bins...
We had enough wheat and corn in shoes and pockets to greatly increase our food storage!!

Wyatt's Birthday - #2

So, I am finally getting back to this blog!! These, if you can't tell, are some pictures from Wyatt's second birthday celebration. We had to wait to plan it because we knew that we would be going to Utah. We chose a nice Saturday...right! It had been blazing hot all week and on that Saturday--it rained. Not a drizzle, but a down pour! Wyatt was the decision maker and he chose to keep the party at the park. He said a prayer that it would stop raining for his party and we headed out to decorate. Just about 20 minutes before the party started the rained stopped and we saw blue sky!! It actually got a little hot and we took off our jackets. We had a great time with the friends that decided to venture out on a rainy Saturday. And, at precisely 4:00, it started raining!

The blue bionicle mask cake--it turned out more like a blue demon...

I like this picture of Wyatt's buddy--See all of the candy in Wyatt's hands? Now, look at the little boy's tongue. This is the same little kid that kept sneaking into the candy bag and taking my nerds!

"Happy Birthday to You!"

Little Feet

I just love when little babies discover their feet! I just had to post these cute pictures. Lissy can't leave hers alone!
