Magical Moments in the Life of a 3-year-old

So, Garrett and I were cleaning the dishes last night...I pulled the ice cube tray out of the dishwasher and placed it on the counter. He wanted some ice and tried to help himself, but obviously there was none. He asked where the ice was, had it melted? No, I explained that I wanted to wash the tray and that we would have to make more ice.
"You can make more?" (giggle).
"How do you make more?" (as I was filling the tray with water).
"You just put in the water and wait?" (giggle, giggle).
And, as I was placing the tray into the freezer, he said, with the most serious looks I have ever seen, "That is so cool, mom."
I know, son, I know!
This kid cracks me up!

Snow Day

We don't get snow very often, so the boys took advantage of this fine snowy day. We are not well-equipped with snow gear, so we used bread bags in old shoes!!! They had a blast! And, nearly frooze to death. The wind here is insane!

Nap Time...Right!

This is what Lissy's naps look like...

Notice the bruise on her forehead...crawling was not good enough...she thinks that she must stand now!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

During the month of December, we heard Garrett sing "Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas" about a hundred-thousand times, and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" about two-hundred-thousand times! He was so excited for Christmas this year. We had a lot of fun at our ward Christmas party. Santa showed up...imagine the excitement...from all of us! Wyatt thinks a lot about Santa. He is trying to figure this guy out. Myself, I am not ready to give it up, yet! I love the excitement during the Christmas season. I love the good that Santa represents. I love teaching my children about the Saviour, and about his humble birth. All of our FHEs were focused on Christ and his birth and Christmas. We had a fun FHE with some special friends, the Buckleys, the Woods, and the Rosses. We are blessed with such good friends in our Sweet Mountain Home! We had such a fun Christmas with gifts from Grandma Kris, Nanny and Poppy, Keri and Pete, and Santa (of course!!)...We tried to focus on giving this year, and I have to say, the boys did such a great job thinking of others this year.

Here are some of my favorite pictures...

Thanks for thinking of us Grandma Kris!!

Lissy playing with her gift bag from Nanny and Poppy
When Garrett opened his gift bag, he was awestruck, "Wow, I got 100 dollars!" Thank YOU Nanny! I didn't have the heart to tell him it wasn't exactly $100!!

For those of you who don't know, Nanny has a fettish with fun socks. We look forward to her fun finds every year. This year, she found socks that light up! How cool is that! Wyatt wore his until we had to scape them off his feet with a chisel!
Thanks Nanny and Poppy! We love you!
The Big Man Finally Came!!
"How did he know that I wanted that?" Hum, I don't know...
Garrett was sooooooo, sooooo, so happy to finally "see his baby tiger"...

Wyatt did not think that we were going through the presents fast enough...
Lissy did not know what to think, but she sure liked the candy jars!

My Little Helpers

Garrett has really been interested in helping me cook lately. He helped with this lasagne dish and with these yummy Christmas cookies! Notice how thick the pile of frosting is...

BTW: Garrett has officially graduated Nursery and will start Sunbeams this Sunday. He couldn't be more pleased with himself. Thanks to his Nursery teacher, Sister Smith, and Good Luck to his new teacher, Sister Susan (she's gonna need it)!

The boys also had a fun time making Grandma gifts this year. My little sister wanted to do a handprint towel, but since we had already done that on the Golding side, we made tote bags instead. I thought they were so dang cute, I made one for me and a BBQ apron for Travis!
