Asleep at the Wheel

Garrett does not like to take naps, but every once in awhile, naps like to take Garrett!

This was at dinner. Garrett usually says the dinner prayer and, apparently, we did not get ready fast enough for him...We don't even have our meal dished out!

Before Christmas, we had our Home Teachers over and Garrett excused himself to go potty. He was in there quite a long time, and was unusually quiet. I went to check him out, and the poor boy was asleep on the pot. I wish, now, that I had a picture of it!

Where's Lissy?

Sometimes I can get myself a little distracted...Like on this day. The kids and I were all upstairs. The kids playing with toys, and I on the internet (it can be a nasty thing). I thought that I had everyone in check, until I started hearing this banging...Alyssa, what are you doing? I sent big brother Wyatt to investigate and I hear, "Mom, come check this out."

Lucky for all that I only store towels and tp in this cabinet!

See Wyatt Read

I have just loved watching Wyatt learn to read. There is something magical about it, from being able to just say his ABC's in Joy School to knowing the sounds that each letter makes (sometimes I have had to ask him what a particular letter says) to recognizing sight words to reading everything and anything. With him being the first reader in the family, I was a little worried that he would struggle or whatever and, yeah, whatever! He is such a good little student. I am so proud of his hardwork. I make him complete his homework before games and sometimes he does it on the bus! WOW! Wyatt is such a good helper at home and with his brother and sister. I don't know what I would do without him. He is also such a good friend. He is looking forward to his Fencing class which finally starts next week!

Basketball John, John, John Stockton

Ever since the Olympics, Garret and Wyatt, both, have wanted to earn the Gold medal...Thank you Michael Phelps...So, Garrett's chosen path to fame is Basketball. We signed up for the community Smart Start program and had a great time learning all about basketball. Here are some pictures from Wyatt...I just had to use them...He cracks me up!

This class was designed for one-on-one teaching with parent and child, with a group activity throughout the hour. At the beginning, the 'team' would do some warm-up exercises.

Garrett spent a lot of the time on the floor. He loved his special basketball pants.

The last day of class was for evaluations and a 'real' game! Oh my goodness! It was awesome! A few parents played against all of the kids...It all came to an end when the kids started tackling each other for the ball. And, there was no dribbling, it was take it and run to the basket! It was a good experience for Garrett, but on to bigger and better...Soccer!!

Look at ME!!!!

Alyssa has been wanting to move and groove for a long time now. She started climbing the stairs on Christmas day and she hasn't stopped since. She likes to stand and cheer herself on! She can take a few steps, but, again, it is a lot easier with a cheer squad! And, she likes to manuever the kitchen chairs around until they become walkers. Pretty clever, little lady! Lissy is a very happy, quiet baby who likes to tease Dad and her brothers, and is enjoying life's many first's!
