This year when Wyatt woke up, he was surrounded by birthday balloons, he put on his birthday shirt (I heard him tell Garrett, "She made me a shirt."), and hopped, happily, in the truck with his blue and green sugar cookies to share with his class! A few weeks before his big day, Wyatt told me one day, "Mom, you know what I would do if I was you on my birthday? I would have a big sign that said 'Happy Birthday, Wyatt' so that I could see it outside, and one inside the living room and balloons and decorations." So, with the help of our good friend Lisa, we did our best!
We ate Wyatt's favorite food--hamburgers! And, he was thrilled to have gifts from everyone!
So, thanks from him to Grandma Kris for the money and transformer!; Nanny for the phone call and cash!; Uncle Bryan and Aunt Ashlee for the gift card!; Aunt Keri, Uncle Pete, and Jack for the Spongebob (Garrett's translation: Bobby Squarepants) birthday card game!; and Lisa's help making the cake and decorating! Thanks for making it the best day ever!

The birthday boy as seen by his kid brother!

Is this an excited look or an-I'm-crazy-for-cake-and-sprinkles-look?

Make a wish!!

What a cute story! And making him a shirt is such a good idea. It makes it that much more special. I agree with you sister, birthdays should be cool and you always knowck the ball out of the park in that regard.
What a great idea to make your boys birthday shirts! And that cake looks yummy-sprinkles and all. :)
