Almost Snow...

It wanted to snow...

It even tried snowing...

Boomer thought that he liked the snow...

The snowflakes were really big...

But, in the end...

All we got was a 3-inch snowman!

Happy Heart's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day breakfast!

Garrett is excited about it...

Showing off her new Belle jammies....

The Gary face...

Garrett and his new elephant!

Wyatt is too much like his father.

There's part of the frog, but no boy!
The boys have done so many fun projects at school this year. I don't have any pictures of it, but the first great fundraiser the school did was a Rocket Run. They asked for a pledge per how many laps they could run. The kids all loved it! And, the school brought in a ridiculous amount of money!
Wyatt and the 3rd graders went on a tour of Downtown Portland. They visited the old historic sites and tried to catch the Mayor at his office. Wyatt loved it and still talks about it.
Garrett loves kindergarten. He has the sweetest teacher! They talked about the difference between frogs and toads and their homework was to make a frog diorama. It was so much fun. First, Garrett drew a picture of what he wanted it to look like; next, we bombarded the local dollar store for supplies; then, he assembled it as per his plan! It turned out so awesome! What a great project!

It is hard work to smile for a picture!

Always a clown...

Can you spot all 3 frogs?

A little hint...

There he is...

Night of the Notables

In our Rock Creek School Night of the Notables is an event that the 3rd graders look forward to each year. The kids spend time during school researching a famous American. They write a 5-page paper on all of their findings and then condense that information down to a 1-2 minute speech.
Wyatt choose to learn about Orville Wright, one of the Wright brothers who flew his glider at Kitty Hawk.
The night began with kids, in costume, singing patriotic songs and then the families were able to walk around the school listening to the different speeches, trying to guess who the 3rd grader was representing.

It was such a fun night for the kids and the families. The kids all had their speeches memorized and they really were proud of all of their hard work!
Great Job, Wyatt!

Later at home Lissy and Garrett had to share in the fun of dressing up!

Walking down memory lane...

We were able to share Thanksgiving with my brother and sister and their families in Seattle. This was the first time that Travis has not had to work the day after in several years!

The cousins had too much fun!

The only picture where all three little girls were looking at the camera has a flaw in it...go figure! They are sweet, though! They are all three June babies with the little ones being born only a few days apart.

Adele had a blast with everyone...dressing up the little girls and playing some shoot-em-up action game with Garrett.

Where are the pictures of the big kids, you ask? Two words...Video Games!

During my last trip to Seattle I noticed this antique...

My mom made this so long ago! It was fun to see it intact. Bill claims that they use it all of the time, but none of my blankets have ever lasted that long!

Here is a close-up so that mom can see the fabric that she used...Pretty darn cool, huh mom!!

Sunsets, Giant Bubbles, and Glitter Nails

It's not often that you get a chance to see the sunset in Portland. In fact, it's not often that you see the sun in Portland! During the month of March there was one--yes, 1, one, uno--one day with no measurable rain. I had to laugh on April 1st because the sun was so bright in the morning...Coming out of the grocery store Alyssa said that her eyes hurt from the sun...I said, "It must be an April Fool's joke!" So, enjoy a rare Portland sunset...

The Crossly family sent us an awesome Christmas gift this year! Giant Bubbles...They were amazing! Check out the fun...

My little girl loves anything glittery!!

Look what I got!

Travis had another training class in Denver. Halfway thru he surprised us with flowers. Alyssa was so sick that day, but she claimed the flowers as her own...She was especially found of the pink carnations!

Thanks, Daddy! We love you, and are so lucky to have you home with us every night!

Pudding Fingerpaint

Looking for a fun (messy) toddler activity??? Just add some food coloring to vanilla pudding.

Lissy's reaction: (confused look on face) What? (laugh) I paint?
Mama: Yes. With your fingers.
Lissy: With my fingers? (laugh)
Mama: Yes. Then, you can lick your fingers like this.
Lissy: I eat it? (laugh)
Mama: Yes. It's pudding.

Lissy: It's good!
Mama: Show me your fingers.

The rest goes like this...

Paint.

Eat.

Paint.

Lick.

Paint!

Eat!

Goonies Never Say Die...

If you are ever in the Portland area, a great place to visit is Astoria. You would do better to take a couple of days to see the sites...

This is an old ship wreck at Fort Stevens...It was pretty cool, but the wind was nasty so we didn't stay long at all.

This little bundle is Wyatt! It was freezing cold!

That white stuff...Snow! Who knew...

And, if you are in Astoria you can't pass up the opportunity to see the house in which the '80's film Goonies was filmed.

These pictures were taken from the Astoria column...It was quite a site!

We are planning on going back when it is a little warmer to camp and play in Astoria!
