Night of the Notables

In our Rock Creek School Night of the Notables is an event that the 3rd graders look forward to each year. The kids spend time during school researching a famous American. They write a 5-page paper on all of their findings and then condense that information down to a 1-2 minute speech.
Wyatt choose to learn about Orville Wright, one of the Wright brothers who flew his glider at Kitty Hawk.
The night began with kids, in costume, singing patriotic songs and then the families were able to walk around the school listening to the different speeches, trying to guess who the 3rd grader was representing.

It was such a fun night for the kids and the families. The kids all had their speeches memorized and they really were proud of all of their hard work!
Great Job, Wyatt!

Later at home Lissy and Garrett had to share in the fun of dressing up!
