Homemade Ice Cream in a Baggie!!

Garrett's Kindergarten class made homemade ice cream in sandwich baggies! He had such a fun time that we had to do it for our Family Home Evening treat! Here is the recipe and some tips...

Add ingredients in a sandwich-size Zip-Loc bag and "zip" closed:
1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 cup milk or half & half, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Add enough ice to fill a gallon-size Zip-Loc bag about 3/4 full. Sprinkle in about 2 tablespoons rock salt. Next, add the filled/zipped sandwich bag from above. Shake and roll filled bag over and over until frozen (about 15-20 min.) YUMMY!!

Tips:
As the ice melts it does leak a little so do outside.
Use Heavy duty sandwich bags. The ice poked through our sandwich bags making the ice cream taste salty. We also tried to double bag the ingredients and that really helped cut down the salty taste.
Enjoy a tasty treat!!
